When choosing materials, LED PCB manufacturers need to reasonably select metal-based or FR4 fiberglass PCBs according to the actual application requirements, cost budget, and thermal management needs of the product, in order to achieve good product performance and cost-effectiveness.

Material Structure

  1. Metal-based PCB: Uses metals such as aluminum or copper as the base, with insulating and conductive layers on the surface.
  2. FR4 fiberglass PCB: Uses glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin as the base material, with a laminated structure, widely used in traditional PCBs.

Thermal Performance

  1. Metal-based PCB: Has excellent thermal conductivity, quickly transferring heat to the metal base, suitable for high-power LED applications.
  2. FR4 fiberglass PCB: Limited heat dissipation capability, not suitable for high-power or densely packed LED applications.
