Working Principle

ICT equipment secures the PCB on a test fixture (bed of nails) and uses hundreds or thousands of spring-loaded probes to make direct contact with the test points on the circuit board. Controlled by software, the equipment automatically applies voltage or current to measure the electrical characteristics of each component and circuit, including open circuits, shorts, resistance, capacitance, diodes, and transistors. This allows defects in the manufacturing and assembly process to be quickly and accurately detected.
